Biography

Arthur J. Travieso is Of Counsel at The Horne Law Firm, APC. Mr. Travieso focuses his litigation practice in the areas of family law, complex civil litigation, criminal law and bankruptcy matters. Mr. Travieso is an experienced litigator with more than twenty civil jury verdicts to his credit.

He has successfully litigated matters involving premises liability, mold exposure, personal injury cases, trucking litigation, domestic disputes, and real estate cases. Mr. Travieso is one of a small number of attorneys in Southern California to have actually tried to verdict complex toxic exposure and construction defect cases. His success rate is very high.

Mr. Travieso has also handled many civil appellate matters throughout his career. Among his achievements, Mr. Travieso served as the lead appellate counsel in Miller v. Givens, 20 Cal.AppAth 18 and Arias v. Katella Townhouse Homeowners Association, Inc., 127 Cal.AppAth 847. Attorneys throughout the state of California often cite these cases as establishing the rules under which a prevailing party at trial can recover attorneys’ fees following judgment.

Mr. Travieso received his Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles where he received Departmental Honors. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law. Mr. Travieso is admitted to the State Bar of California, the United States Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts in the Central, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California. Mr. Travieso both speaks and teaches at seminars on various litigation matters. He is fully fluent in Spanish.
